Character Name: Brianna Randall (Fraser)
Canon: Outlander
God House: Frigg
God Power:

Hugging: She only welcomes hugs from people she knows super well, and especially in light of recent trauma.
Kissing: Acceptable, but only after a lot of time spent building trust.
Flirting: Same as above.
Fighting: Open to it with some plotting!
Injuring: Also open to this, let's plot it out!
Killing: Same as above.
Telepathy: Certainly, let's just work out the details privately.
Mind/Body Control: Also okay, after plotting.
Warnings: Only a few weeks before being brought to Asgard, Brianna was raped by a man named Stephen Bonnet. She's been burying all of her feelings and trauma from this event so hasn't really dealt with it much yet. It will be hard for her to trust people outside of her family at first.

Character Name: Brianna Randall (Fraser)
Canon: Outlander (show verse only)
Canon Information: Wiki link
Canon Point: Outlander S4E9, “The Birds and the Bees”
Age: 23
God Houses: Heimdall would be an appropriate fit for Brianna given her unwavering loyalty for the people she loves, and her instinct to often put their well-being above her own, even at the risk sometimes of her own happiness. Frigg would be the better fit for Brianna, purely due to her motivation and commitment to family above everything else.

Personality: Brianna Randall is a force of nature; passionate, tenacious, and loyal, she approaches life with both an open mind and heart. Though not raised by her biological father, Jamie Fraser, the best and worst traits of all three parents have coalesced to give life to a young woman who’s stubborn, compassionate, strong-willed, smart, witty, and heart-driven. She’s the sum total of the three most important people in her life: her mother, Claire Fraser, her adoptive father, Frank Randall, and her biological father, Jamie Fraser, whom she’s only just come to know at the age of twenty-three.

Independent and confident, Brianna moves through life with the self-assurance that comes with knowing she can conquer any hardship in her path. She’s had her share of struggles, the biggest being what amounted to an identity crisis at the age of eighteen upon learning that the life she had known all along wasn’t exactly what she thought. Her “father” wasn’t her real father, and her mother had traveled back in time, falling in love with an 18th century highlander, whom she had to separate from for the sake of her life and her unborn child’s life. This revelation, which was revealed to Brianna not long after her beloved father, Frank, died, rocked her to her core.

She was angry at her mother for what amounted to years worth of a terrible lie, but once Brianna realized that her mother was telling the truth, her perspective shifted abruptly to one of love and support. Shaken though she was, upon knowing that both her mother and the biological father she’d never known had sacrificed so much just for her to have a good and peaceful life, Brianna selflessly put her focus into helping her mother once it was revealed that Jamie Fraser had indeed survived the Battle of Culloden. Despite still grappling with her own hurt, Brianna put her mother first. Eventually, she insisted that her mother had to return to Jamie, saying that she wanted to “give him back” to her after all these years. This is where her compassion and her independence blended together; she had the strength of will to insist that she would be okay being relatively alone, with no more family in her life. Truthfully, losing her mother devastated her, but Brianna’s heart is so big that she cared more about her mother’s happiness than her own. She sent her back in time, back to Jamie Fraser, with the assumption that she would never see her again.

Growing up with such a small family fostered an entrenched sense of loyalty in Brianna, whether that be to family or friends. When she cares about someone, she’ll be endlessly and relentlessly committed to their happiness and well-being. For much of her life, this applies to her parents, Claire and Frank, then to a young man she begins to develop feelings for, Roger Wakefield. But as her life changes rapidly, with Brianna discovering an old obituary and learning that her mother and Jamie Fraser were fated to die in a fire, she endeavors to travel back in time to find her mother and warn her. Despite the life she’d begun to build on her own, in the 20th century, her loyalty and fierce protectiveness of her family overrides all else, even her own happiness. She’ll do whatever it takes to ensure their safety.

Thus, she goes to the same stones her mother did, journeying back to the 18th century, and ultimately to the colony of North Carolina, to find her parents, and to meet her biological father, Jamie Fraser, for the first time. Along the way, she’d made a new friend, her handmaid, Lizzie, and her sense of loyalty then extends to her as well, making sure she’s always with her and never left behind. Her loyalty is also so strong that she even worries she’s being disloyal to her father, Frank, when she starts getting closer to her biological father, Jamie. Once reassured that the two can coexist in her heart, a loyalty then grows in her for Jamie as well.

Upon deciding to travel back in time, it’s a dangerous and uncertain path that she treads, being a young woman alone, completely out of her time and out of her element. But she’s imbued with that fierce strength and determination, carried through her veins with Fraser blood, with the years of influence from her father, Frank, and her mother. She has a duty and a purpose, she will find her parents in the Colonies and warn them. Failure is simply not an option; even when she suffers through a devastating attack, the trauma of it doesn’t deter her from her mission. She can compartmentalize enough to soldier on when failure means that something terrible will happen to the people she loves.

As much as her determination is a strength, it also goes hand-in-hand with another trait of Brianna’s that’s both a strength and a weakness: she’s incredibly stubborn. It’s been a strength of hers when it means seeing something through to the end, protecting others, and not backing down from a fight when weaker or vulnerable people are at risk. But it’s a weakness when combined with what can be an explosive temper at times. Brianna is so certain that she’s right sometimes that it can often take an explosion of hurtful words before she deflates. Unfortunately, that means sometimes nearly irreparable damage is done, with words being said out loud that can’t be taken back. She keeps an open mind in some situations, but not when it means suspending rational thought and scientific fact. The moment her mother told her the truth about traveling back in time, Brianna’s explosive temper rose to the surface, resulting in a quick lashing out, without much thought or care for the damage her words would do. She thought her mother had to be literally insane, because time travel simply couldn’t be real. Rather than giving her the chance to explain herself, and rather than simply hearing her out, Brianna’s mind shut down, refusing to even mildly entertain the possibility that something like that could be possible. It’s worth noting, though, that once the truth was revealed, Brianna backed down and apologized to her mother. Contrition is something she’s capable of, at least, and she doesn’t let any sense of pride get in the way of making amends when she ultimately realizes she was in the wrong. Her stubbornness is to her detriment at times, too, when she turns off the part of her mind and heart that might actually need help. After the attack she suffered in Wilmington, she tucks away all the hurt and trauma from it to protect her family. But then for weeks at a time, she stubbornly does not acknowledge her own pain. She’s so stubborn that she can’t even see the mental anguish she’s making worse for herself by staying silent.

Along with having a hot temper and being guilty of saying harsh words she doesn’t truly mean, Brianna can be impulsive and impatient. She can make quick and abrupt decisions in the heat of a moment, borne out of intense emotion, that might not always be the best decisions, or even the decision she would truly want to make, were she to give herself some time to process. She doesn’t, though; she will often leap into making a choice, acting with her heart (and its tangled web of complicated emotions) first and her head second. This can be a strength when it means putting others first, but it can be a weakness when it results in actions taken that might endanger her life, or even hurt other people.

Chiefly, Brianna is motivated by love; love of family, of friends, of the world and what it has to give. She appreciates nature, being outside, being surrounded by the abundance of earth. She values peace and contentment, and she would be happiest knowing the people she loves most are happy, always. She’ll do absolutely anything she can, in fact, to make sure the people she loves are okay, always. Having always had such a small family, there’s nothing she wouldn’t do for the people she loves. Driven by a big heart and such a capacity to care for others, it also doesn’t take much for Bree to broaden the circle of people she loves and cares about, for whom she would do anything.
